Paper Abstract:
Discusses the issue of drug testing in both public & private workplaces. Considers legal ramifications of productivity, privacy & constitutionality.

Paper Introduction:
Introduction: Pros and Cons Drug testing in the workplace is an issue because of the fact that drug abuse by American workers endangers their coworkers. Drug abuse also reduces productivity, costs the company and eventually the consumer money, and contributes to health problems which are then paid for either by the company or the public in some fashion. Many employers have introduced some form of drug testing program in order to reduce costs and offer help to drug abusing employees. There are concerns that such testing violates privacy rights and could lead to employees being disciplined or even fired. There are also concerns that the testing is not adequate or accurate and that innocent employees will suffer as a consequence. The courts have been called in to adjudicate these matters.

Paper Abstract:
Overview of some of the arguments in favor of handgun control. Focuses on the emotional side, but presents some rational arguments.

Paper Introduction:
Legislation requiring the registration of handguns and some control over the distribution and sale of handguns should be passed. Legislation banning the sale of any automatic weapon, including assault rifles, should be adopted. Such action should be taken at the federal level because guns, like the issue, cross state lines and make a mockery of the patchwork, state-by-state approach that presently exists. An examination of the issue shows that the arguments of the gun lobby are empty and that instituting controls on handguns in every state would reduce the number of guns in circulation and thus reduce the number of crimes committed with handguns. There is little argument over the issue of whether or not guns cause devastation in American society, for it is clear that they do. In 1990 it was reported by the U.S. Department of Justi

Paper Abstract:
Argues against the legalization of prostitution on medical, moral, & criminal grounds.

Paper Introduction:
Prostitution should not be legalized. Such a public policy would only encourage behavior that undermines the importance of the family, is destructive of other social values, and dangerous to those who participate in it. The benefits claimed by proponents of legalization are not real, while the damage is clear. Proponents claim that prostitution is a victimless crime, but this is not the case. Especially in the era of AIDs, as Mark A.R. Kleiman notes, there are many victims. Between 1,000 and 10,000 men become infected with AIDs each year because of having sex with female prostitutes, and they can then spread the disease to others. Controlling the spread of the disease can be accomplished only by reducing the number of sexual contacts between prostitutes and customers, reducing the risk associated with
