As-a result, many employers have instituted a variety of measures to apply the principles of ergonomics within the work-place. There have been several positive results subsequent to the use of ergonomics. As one example, the American Optometric Association (1992, p. 9) reports that VDT related work injuries can be decreased by as much as 78 percent with the use of ergonomically designed work-stations and alterations in work habits.
