Effectiveness of Non-Death Grief Counseling for African, Asian, and European Immigrants
The aim of the proposed research is to test a form of brief, grief counseling for its effectiveness in providing therapeutic help to three groups of female immigrants: Asians, Europeans, and Africans. The study will involve assessing the women’s psychological status with respect to non-death related grief, providing a form of brief grief therapy, and then reassessing the women’s status with respect to non-death related grief.
Quasi-Experimentation
The following presents a quasi-experimental design to be used in research on treatment outcomes for depression with a clinical population from a community mental health center. Hypotheses and a research design to be considered are presented. Following this ethical issues as well as factors that need to be controlled for, are discussed. The chosen method and two other possible ways of setting up the research design are presented with the advantages and disadvantages of each analyzed and evaluated relative to the research project proposed.
