Gender Bias in Religion
This paper provides an analysis that illustrates that gender bias in religion is pervasive and widespread on a global level, something that is true both from an historical and a contemporary perspective. Various religious beliefs and cultures are reviewed to support the analysis.
The Gnostic Tradition
Gnosticism is a set of religious movements that occurred during the time between Classical Antiquity to the Middle Ages in Europe and the Mediterranean. It includes belief systems centered around the life of Jesus. Many of teachings of the Gnostic tradition come from the Apocryphon of John, which was preserved in four Coptic manuscript, three in the Nag Hammadi Codices and one in the codex Berolinensis Gnosticus (Thejls, 133).
